i wish everybody just had a soulmate and everything was clear cut and when you met the person and your eyes locked something switched in both of your brains at the same time and you were like ‘hey’ and they were like ‘hey’ and that’s all you needed to say because you found your person and then you didn’t have to wonder about any other person ever again or anything because your person would automatically be yours and you would automatically be theirs and so much horse shit would be solved in the world because love would be a matter of course and everyone would have it and find it and be too busy enjoying their loved ones to cause havoc for everyone else and life would be good and the world would go round.

Benny is a good guy. I mean, a really good guy. And not just in the “I drink blood, not people” sense- it’s also in the blood he chooses to drink (AB+).
See, AB+ is the blood type known as the “universal recipient”- that is, a person who has this blood type can accept blood donations from any other blood type. However, when it comes to blood donations, us AB+ types (it’s my blood type, which is why I noticed this in the first place) can only donate to other AB+es.
In other words, AB+ blood is the least in-demand blood type, and is often (at least comparatively) overstocked in blood banks.
Benny doesn’t want to take blood away from people who might need it, even though he’s decided human blood is better for him than animal. And that’s why he continually mentions the blood type he chooses to drink. Because to him, that choice matters.
